Coming back to Italy after 12 days in Greece felt a lot like coming home, but perhaps the greatest moment of the entire trip happened in the Florence airport. While we were waiting to collect our baggage, someone said, "Is that Guy Fieri?" I turned around only to see the Mayor of Flavortown himself. I walked up to him and asked him for a picture to which he shrugged and said, "Sure." I quickly snapped a selfie and thanked him, but he stopped me. "That's not how you take a selfie." He corrected me. "Ummm, yes, it is, Guy Fieri," I responded. He just laughed and said, "You're a college student, so I'll let it slide." But when another girl tried to take a selfie with him, he lifted her phone up and said, "No more up-the-nose angles." As you can see, this was both a cultural and educational significant moment because we learned how to properly take a picture and that Guy Fieri is scared of having a double chin in pictures.
